Cuba really is one of the most fascinating destinations in Latin America for a walking holiday and we have extensive personal experience of walking throughout this diverse island, so feel free to give us a call to chat through all the options.
An evening arrival into Havana with a warm Cuban welcome and our local driver will take you along the “ autopista” to the Las Terrazas National Reserve.
In the cool early morning, head off with your local guide for a gentle 5 mile walk through the peaceful, sub-tropical forests. The trail meanders through the home to numerous species of endemic birds including the Tocororo, the delightful national bird of Cuba with its unique song.
Enjoy lunch in a local farmhouse restaurant and stroll along the picturesque San Juan River, before continuing to Vinales Valley, a most beautiful area of Cuba with unique karst landscapes.
This morning, enjoy an insightful guided walk through the stunning Vinales scenery, with a choice of routes to suit all. Pass many local farms, meet the farmers and learn a little about their lives over a local freshly brewed coffee.
Lunch today can be at one of our favourite restaurants, the organic farm at Finca Paraiso overlooking Silencio Valley. The farm restaurant serves a platter of local dishes with all the ingredients organically sourced.
After lunch take a stroll down the hill to explore the delightful small town of Vinales and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Enjoy a full day 10-mile trail through more remote areas of Vinales Valley. Weave through the unique karst mogote cliffs and climb up through the hills with a few steep ascents on this walk compensated by the amazing views.
The evening will be free to enjoy one of our recommended restaurants in Vinales for dinner after a long day in the fresh air.
An early start takes you to the most beautiful island key of Cayo Jutias with the chance to stroll along the beach and through the mangroves to the remote and gorgeous Cayo Megano.
There will be time to swim and we can guide you to a unique spot to see the many starfish who seem to congregate here, the reason why remains a mystery.
Our local friend barbecues lobster on the beach so we can pre order for you or provide a packed lunch and drinks to enjoy.
A final day of walking in Vinales involves meeting the tiny Los Aquaticos community, who believe in the healing powers of water to cure many illnesses.
Today's walk commences through rich farmland before climbing slowly up through the forests and at the end of an enthralling walk, we stroll back into Vinales where the remainder of the day is at leisure, before Havana beckons us in the morning.
Head along the empty autopista to Havana, where around three hours later we will meet up with our guide to enjoy a fascinating and leisurely walk-through historic Old Havana.
Explore the narrow streets, absorbing the amazing vibrancy of this historic old town and enjoy a traditional Cuban lunch in one of our handpicked private restaurants.
Tonight, head out to the world-famous Tropicana open air extravaganza of cabaret, dancers, lights and amazing costumes that takes you back to the 1930s.,
This morning, visit one of Havana’s fascinating working cigar factories in downtown Havana, to see how Cuba’s famous cigar brands are still hand made by the local workers ready for export around the world.
In the afternoon a Classic American car can be waiting to whisk you off for a thrilling drive through this unique city where we can pre book a table at one of our favourites for you after the tour.
Travel south towards the Zapata National park, one of the most ecological significant areas in the Caribbean , home to an abundance of animals, marine life and over 200 bird species (plus the endangered Cuban crocodile!)
Walk through the swamplands with a specialist guide and the opportunity to see the Bee Hummingbird, the smallest bird in the world and swim in the Caribbean Sea , before continuing to the colonial city of Cienfuegos.
Travel into the impressive Escambray mountains today, for two days of exhilarating guided walks with some amazing viewpoints!
Todays trail starts along the shoreline of the picturesque Lake Hanabanilla, followed by a short climb where there are amazing views of the mountain scenery.
Continue through the forests ending back at the lake where a boat will take you along the lake for well-earned refreshments, followed by another ascent to a second amazing viewpoint!
Today’s walk starts through a forest, where a reforestation programme has introduced over 300 different varieties of tree and continue through the hills to a large waterfall pool, inviting you for a cooling swim.
After lunch at a mountain lodge the walk continues through the dense sub-tropical vegetation with streams, river and caves before heading down the mountain road
to colonial Trinidad.
After a long day of walking, we can reserve you a table at one of our favourite Trinidad restaurants for a hearty meal tonight.
Enjoy a leisurely walking tour of Trinidad, strolling through the historic cobbled streets and learning about the area’s strong connections with sugar plantations and the slave trade. Life here is so very different now and the tour will also touch on the life of the locals in today’s Trinidad.
Enjoy a relaxed lunch in the centre and as the day cools down enjoy our unique sunset tour in a Classic American car with the chance for a swim in the sea
This morning head for Havana, en route visiting the historic Sugar Mill valley to see the old plantation houses and ghostly watch tower of Manaca Iznaga.
You can also stop at Santa Clara, a city of major historical significance and visit Che Guevara's Mausoleum and the museum dedicated to his life as well as the colonial centre, before continuing along the autopista to Havana.
It’s your last night so head out to the world-famous Tropicana open air extravaganza of cabaret, dancers, lights and amazing costumes that takes you back to the 1930s,
If heading home today, enjoy some independent time in Havana before a private transfer takes you to the airport for your flight home or if you heading to the beach .......its time to rest those walking legs!
