Cuba continues to be hugely popular with cyclists and E bikers, exploring the quiet backroads and diverse scenery of the Caribbean’s largest island on two wheels.
Cycle through strange “mogote” mountains, rich tobacco plantations and along coastal roads literally touching the ocean. Cycle between colonial cities or through the backstreets of Havana amongst local cyclists, although your bikes will have more gears!
Also included are many Cuba experiences, tours and experiences throughout the holiday. With some hearty meals after a day on the saddle as well as plenty of authentic live music and time to relax on amazing beaches.
Cycle through central Cuba, starting with a visit to the Bay Of Pigs, such a notable site in Cuba’s revolutionary history. Enjoy an inspiring ride along the coastal road to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Trinidad. Spend a few nights here before heading back to Havana to enjoy this unique and vibrant capital city for a couple of days.
The scenery and the cycling reach an exciting level as you cycle through stunning scenery to Vinales Valley, with time to also enjoy this most beautiful area of Cuba.
Your last day of cycling takes you back into Old Havana and you can extend your time at the end of the holiday and relax at one of Cuba’s most beautiful beaches .
Our cycling holiday includes local specialist cycling guides to accompany you on the rides as well as a support vehicle for luggage and transfers. If you want to bring your own bike that’s fine or you can rent a sturdy hybrid locally or even an E bike!
The quiet backroads and stunning scenery of Cuba are waiting for you as fly to Havana and do keep those trusted cycling legs stretched on board!
Upon arrival in Havana and a warm Caribbean welcome, a private transfer will take you to historic Old Havana. There may be time for a short stroll tonight before bed
Be acquainted with your sturdy hybrid bike this morning for a panoramic cycling tour of Havana.
Cycle past elegant mansion houses and through downtown Havana and across the imposing Revolution Square. Weave through bustling Old Havana passing many historical sights and freewheel down the delightful Prado promenade.
Continue on foot with our local guide to discover Old Havana’s historic charm and enjoy a traditional lunch in a local restaurant.
Relax for a while before heading off in the late afternoon to the Bay of Pigs for an overnight stay close to the Caribbean Sea.
Enjoy an early kayak tour through the clear, shallow waters at Las Salinas lagoon one of the most idyllic natural locations in Cuba. Paddle past delightful sandy beaches, tiny islands and forests of mangroves.
Back on two wheels for a ride along the coast to Playa Giron, where in 1961 a failed CIA backed invasion of Cuba was repelled by Fidel Castro’s revolutionaries. After a cooling swim and lunch continue to the colonial city of Cienfuegos.
Leave early for a 55-mile ride to Trinidad, cycling along the undulating coastal road with plenty of stops for cooling drinks and lunch served en route at a farm restaurant.
Trinidad is like a living historic film set, with cobbled streets, pastel painted colonial homes and absorbing street life. A three-night stay is planned here to really immerse yourself into the enthralling area on your bike and on foot.

As the day cools down, let’s get back on two wheels and cycle coastwards on an easy circular route to the Ancon beach with the chance for a swim in the Caribbean Sea and catch the sunset.
Travel across the island towards the beautiful Vinales Valley region, stopping at Santa Clara, a city of major historical significance and where Che Guevara's Mausoleum and museum are located.
After passing through the suburbs of Havana, its an early evening arrival to the Las Terrazas National Park.
Its back on the saddle for the start of four days cycling and today’s 40mile ride will pass two traditional and sleepy Cuban towns of Artemisa and Candelaria, both closely associated with farming and agriculture.
The days ride enjoys some steady downhill sections leading out from the Las Terrazas National Park, however there is a little sting in the tail at the end with a climb into picturesque Soroa.
The picturesque “skyline route” commences today and the ride takes you along an undulating and fascinating route, with a few hills!
Cycle through coffee and fruit plantations with stops at charming little villages for additional drinks and to meet the locals.
Arrival to San Diego de Los Baños for an overnight in this sleepy backwater with pretty squares and colonial buildings, once famed for the healing properties of its waters
An enthralling ride today with a bigger reward at the end, as you reach the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vinales Valley.
The ride today is approximately 50 miles and as the route takes you closer to Vinales the scenery unwraps all around you before an arrival to the much-anticipated Vinales Valley.
A hearty, celebratory dinner can be arranged tonight in a favourite restaurant in the shadow of the Mogotes.
A leisurely day exploring the valley, cycling on quiet country roads is the plan for today.
Visit a local tobacco plantation, meet the local farmers and learn about their lives over a Cuban coffee and for lunch today we recommend an organic farm serving a tasting menu of local dishes with all the ingredients organically sourced.
After a healthy lunch, the cycling can continue through the valley, stopping at the Mural de La Prehistoria, a 60 m high fresco of artwork commissioned by Fidel Castro that dominates a mogote cliff. The jury is out on whether its artwork or an eyesore, you can decide!
Head to the coast and amazing beaches at Cayo Jutias on a 35-mile ride on a bumpy road surface compensated by some stunning views.
Stroll along the beach and through the mangroves to the gorgeous Cayo Megano for a double helping of stunning natural tropical beaches. There will be time to swim and snorkel and visit a unique spot to see the many starfish who seem to congregate here, the reason why remains a mystery.
In the late afternoon transfer back by road to Vinales where the remainder of the day is at leisure.
Saying goodbye to Vinales, an early transfer will head to Las Terrazas, ready for the final 50-mile ride of the holiday and a glorious entrance to Havana on two wheels.
Hugging the coast road and then passing the elegant Siboney area of Havana, its then the hustle and bustle of downtown Vedado, before the last couple of miles along the famous oceanfront Malecon promenade with a finish in Havana’s most beautiful Cathedral Square.
There can be a little liquid celebration, before enjoying the rest of the day at leisure .
This morning, visit one of Havana’s fascinating working cigar factories to experience how Cuba’s famous cigar brands are still hand made by the local workers ready for export around the world.
After the visit a classic American car will whisk you off for a thrilling drive through this unique city, a fantastic way to see the sights and experience the amazing street life as you pass by.
As a farewell to Havana head to the world-famous Tropicana open air extravaganza of cabaret, dancers, lights and amazing costumes that takes you back to the 1930s!
The day can be at leisure in Havana before transferring in the afternoon for the airport for the return flight home.
