Melia Trinidad Peninsula
The Melia Trinidad Peninsula is a large hotel complex on a pretty peninsula, a mere 10-minute drive from the colonial city of Trinidad. Guests can enjoy several pools, extensive sporting facilities and restaurants, and pampering treatments at the Yhi Spa. And you’re just a few steps from the white sands and turquoise waters of Playa Ancon
Being so close to Trinidad means that guests can combine time at their all-inclusive beachside location with the historic cobbled streets of Trinidad. The tropical forests of the Escambray Mountains can be seen on the skyline and it’s just over an hours drive to Topos de Collantes, a beautiful nature reserve within the Escambray mountain range.
Hotel Facilities
The hotel has a choice of swimming pools, including a separate children’s pool. And there is a private infinity pool for those upgrading to ‘The Level’. Guests can also take advantage of the hotel’s sports facilities, including a gym, tennis court and a daily programme of activities including beach volleyball, dance lessons and more.
For those looking to unwind and relax, the hotel’s Yhi Spa offers a range of treatments and services a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, as well as massages, facials, and body treatments.
The hotel also caters to families, with a mini club for children aged 5 to 12 years old, a children’s pool, and a range of outdoor activities and facilities suitable for families.
Dining at the Melia Trinidad Peninsula Hotel
Whilst the interesting and authentic restaurants in Trinidad are only a short distance away by taxi, the hotel does offer a comprehensive choice of dining options as part of their all-inclusive concept.
The main buffet is light and airy and is open for all meals and there is also a Spanish and a Mediterranean restaurant. For those seeking show cooking the Asian Fusion restaurant is open for dinner and requires pre booking the day before. There is also a more informal poolside BBQ and snack bar, and tapas is served in a very modern “Sky bar “ offering amazing views across to the ocean.
There are several bars dotted around the hotel, the most popular being the lobby and pool bars. For more stylish evening drinks the cocktail bar and the Sky Bar are recommended, and our favourite is certainly the beachside sunset bar as the views are fantastic.
Rooming options
The hotel features 356 spacious and very stylish designed rooms and suites each equipped with modern amenities. There are in fact 12 different room categories to choose from and the Deluxe rooms have private bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, furnished balcony / terrace and other amenities.
It’s possible to pay a nominal upgrade to an ‘Ocean View’ or a ‘Swim Up’ which has direct access from the terrace to a pool area. For more space and an enhanced feel, the ‘Junior Suites’ also offer the three categories of a Standard Junior Suite and then the Ocean View and the Swim Up . The Level is an upgraded experience at Melia Trinidad which provides extra services and benefits to guests. These include a dedicated pool and two exclusive bars, including a pool
