We’ve written the holiday as a hybrid of transfers and self-drive however the trip also works well with transfers throughout if you’d prefer. You’ll have a comprehensive tour of the country, seeing cultural San Jose, the watery world of Tortuguero, iconic Arenal, drier forests in Rincon de la Vieja, Monteverde with it’s famous cloud forests, idyllic Manuel Antonio, Corcovado’s incomparable biodiversity, and Quetzals in San Gerardo de Dota.
There really is something for everyone and, whatever you choose to do, you can guarantee you’ll be surrounded by stunning natural phenomena. Whether you’re looking to throw yourself into the opportunities for observing nature, or include some activities either gentle or more involving – or perhaps a mix of both – you’ll be immersed in a magical paradise.
We think the main reason to travel here is to see the menagerie of creatures that are throughout the land. Take a guided nature walk, go turtle-watching, join experienced guides for early morning bird watching or join a guided night-time nature walk.
