Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge
High up in the Los Santos Forest Reserve in Savegre is the beautiful eco-lodge of Dantica. Adjacent to the Los Quetzales National Park, Dantica is the ideal place to spot the elusive Resplendent Quetzal.
The lodge has twelve bungalows of different sizes and sits in its own twenty-hectare grounds with five kilometres of walking trails. Each bungalow has a private terrace with amazing views of the surrounding cloud forest and mountains. All the rooms have Wi-Fi, a safe, minibar with fridge, tea and coffee station, and a bathroom with a jacuzzi and biodegradable products.
Because of the altitude here in the cloud forest, the nights can be chilly however the bungalows have blankets and heating to keep you cosy.
The Tapir (Dantica means Tapir) restaurant serves home-made dishes such as pasta prepared with organically grown herbs and vegetables. The gallery attached to the restaurant sells an interesting selection of Latin American indigenous and contemporary art and handicrafts.
