Walk between villages along old commuter paths and climb high peaks mountains for panoramic views of islands and fjords.
Your guided walking holiday in the Faroe Islands will be customised for you, so that the length of days and style of walking suits your preferences. The Faroe Islands are a paradise for walkers, and having a guide with you means that you can explore some of the less visited areas. They have a relationship with the landowners and can arrange access that would otherwise be hard to obtain.
Our expert guides have summited all 340 of the registered mountain peaks in the Faroe Islands and know all of the trails that link the villages, used for generations as a means to meet friends and family.

The guides have a great understanding of the weather, so they will suggest walks that make the most of the conditions on any given day. Just being on the other side of a fjord can make a huge difference to the weather you’ll experience!
Each day, your guide will collect you from the hotel in the morning and return you in the afternoon after your walk. Throughout the week, you will visit a variety of the islands, so you get to visit some of the most scenic spots.
The itinerary below is just an indication of the walks available, and a bespoke itinerary built to your specific wishes and ability can be easily arranged.

As with all our itineraries, this is just an idea to get you started. It’s easy to extend the holiday so you can do more walking and more tours!
Today you'll land at Vágar airport and our driver will collect you and take you to your hotel.
Today you'll be taken to Klaksvík on the island of Borðoy. From here there are several routes you can do. For an easy introduction to walking in the Faroe Islands you can walk out to Klakkur for panoramic views over Klaksvík and the neighbouring islands and fjords.
Today you'll head to the northern end of Eysturoy to summit Slættaratindur (880 m). Fortunately there is a car park at
about 400 meters, but the remaining height is gained in about 2 km, so it is a very steep ascent. If you make quick work of the ascent there is the possibility of other short (and easier) walks in the area as as to the viewpoint at Hvithamar overlooking the village of Funningur
Today is free for you to relax and recover. You could spend the day exploring Tórshavn on foot (visiting the National Museum, the National Gallery, or just relaxing in one of the cafes in town). Alternatively we can arrange a guided tour (to see the Vestmanna Sea Cliffs by boat, a helicopter trip to Stóra Dímun, or maybe a driver-guided tour of Sandoy).
Cape Enniberg is a cliff located on the Island of Viðoy. At 754 metres high, it is one of the highest promontories in the world.
The West Side refers to the western side of the islands of Streymoy. This route is know for it's views of Vágar island, the Trøllkonufingur (Trollwoman's Finger) rock formation, and the surrounding mountains, including Sornfelli.
Today we can arrange a guided tour (to see the Vestmanna Sea Cliffs by boat, a helicopter trip to Stóra Dímun, or maybe a driver-guided tour of Sandoy).
Today is free for you to do some last minute tax-free shopping, or maybe add an extra tour, or to do a walk you may have missed due to bad weather.
Today you'll be transferred back to Vágar airport for your flight home.
Despite their northerly location, the Faroes enjoy surprisingly mild temperatures thanks to the tail end of the Gulf Stream which tempers the chill. Strong winds and frequent rainfall are part of daily life, which summer highs usually around 15°C. If you want to escape the heat of summer, then the Faroe Islands is a great option!
Arrive expecting a mix of cloud and rain along with days of sunshine and endless views. Most visitors choose to come between May and August, the driest and warmest months, with July and August being peak season. In summer, the islands’ northern latitude means long days and near-twilight nights, when mountain silhouettes linger against the sky. Between May and August you can expect 16 to 20 hours of daylight.
Suitable for all abilities, guided walks are a great way to explore these stunning islands and learn about this country.
