It’s the up-and-coming place to live for Funchal’s commuter-set, thanks to its south-coast location, its sunny micro-climate and its proximity to the capital. For visitors to Madeira, it’s a great location from which to explore the whole island – the green valleys of the east, the peaceful fishing villages of the west, and magnificent sea cliffs of the north are all within easy driving distance.
You’ll be staying at the Pestana Churchill Bay, overlooking the brightly painted boats which populate Camara’s naturally sheltered bay.
