Ziplining
Ever wanted to experience what it’s like to fly high above the treetops? Well, here’s your chance.
For the adventurous aged 4 and up, there are rainforest canopy tours via the lofty zip-line trails that you can be guided along. Zip lines grew from scientific endeavours. Researchers originally used ropes and climbed trees to get access to the important canopy habitat. Over the years this developed into temporary rope and zip lines spanning gaps, to research more and different parts of the canopy.
It’s a short step to further develop this into the adrenaline and nature experience that it is today, and the exciting canopy tours are often of multiple (10-15) high-speed crossings of up to 1,000m in length! If you choose to do this then you’ll be in the company of a team of expert guides looking out for the safety of you and the group you tour the canopy with. All you need to do is sit back in your harness with your legs crossed, enjoy the amazing view and let the adrenaline take over.
There’s not much that stops a zip line tour from happening, including clouds and heavy rain, so travel prepared for wet conditions!
