Playa Cativo Lodge
The luxury Playa Cativo Lodge is on the ocean front in the Golfo Dulce, in Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific. Accessible only by boat, the scenic thirty-minute transfer across emerald waters and past hidden coves to is an excellent introduction to the wildlife you may expect during your stay at this remote beachfront eco-lodge.
The secret hideaway blends in perfectly with the jungle, the beautiful white sandy beaches, and the inviting warm and calm waters. There are five rooms in the original main building and thirteen bungalows constructed from reclaimed hardwood with private plunge pools. The open-air design of these luxury rooms offers a stunning panoramic view of the ocean and rainforest. Interiors are a tasteful combination of polished wood, antique-style furniture and colourful textiles. Bathrooms have hand-painted ceramic sinks and tiles and a rain shower. All rooms have Wi-Fi, ceiling fan and minibar; there are no televisions here. Please note that there is only one room fitted with A/C.
The open-air El Gavilan restaurant in the main building overlooks the bay, and on the other side of the pool, the newly-opened El Gazebo Sunset serves signature cocktails and a great selection of premium wines. Nature walks, boat and kayak trips in the nearby mangrove forests are accompanied by the in-house naturalist guides.
