La Paz Waterfall Gardens Peace Lodge
The award winning La Paz Waterfall Gardens is within the privately owned La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park. The Poas Volcano is right on its doorstep and you’re close to San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital.
Even the standard rooms at the Peace Lodge are very spacious and come with a king size canopy bed, stone fireplace and a balcony with rocking chairs, hammocks, jacuzzi and views of the La Paz River Valley and the Poas Volcano.
Families can stay in a Deluxe Room which has two full size beds and outside and inside shower, or opt for the even bigger Monarch Villa which has two separate bedrooms. All the rooms have Wi-Fi and as guests of the lodge, you have access to the private La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park before and after it closes. These are the best times to watch for bird and animals from the viewing platforms.
The park has a Butterfly Conservatory and an Aviary, as well as hiking trails leading to waterfalls. There are three restaurants: Vista Poas for fine dining; Tortillas for breakfast and snacks; and Colibries, which has a buffet menu. Fish in the two-level Trout Lake and bring your freshly caught trout to the Big Trout Bar, to have it for lunch or dinner!
