Growing up in the Lake District, I developed a love for the outdoors and an appreciation for the natural environment. I like to get out into the countryside – be it walking, running, cycling, or climbing – and being in Keswick is the perfect playground to enjoy these activities.

Prior to working for Archipelago Choice, I spent several years organising bespoke walking holidays around the UK. This was a natural amalgamation of my enjoyment of getting outside and my childhood helping with the family’s holiday cottage lettings business. The opportunity to come to Archipelago Choice and expand my horizons, both literally and metaphorically, was too good to resist.

Over the past few years, I have been travelling extensively throughout the Faroe Islands. I’ve been exploring many of the walking trails and have really enjoyed getting to know some of the locals, sharing a craft beer with them and being introduced to some of the best dining experiences.

The 18 Islands in the Faroes archipelago sit roughly equidistant between Norway and Iceland, and they offer an equally exciting landscape. The remote location and mountainous topography mean you can encounter rain, fog, sunshine, and rainbows all in one day. And there are lots of fantastic ways to experience the islands, from boat tours around to sea stacks and waterfalls, scenic helicopter rides to remote islands, and even the world’s first undersea roundabout, connecting Tórshavn to Esturoy.
