Hotel Føroyar
Hotel Føroyar is perhaps the luxury hotel in the Faroe Islands. With commanding views over Tórshavn and out to the neighbouring island of Nólsoy, yet only a short walk from the centre of town, it’s perfectly situated for a relaxing stay in the capital.
Designed by the award-winning Danish architects Friis & Moltke, known for their brutalist style, the hotel was originally opened in 1983. A two-year expansion project was completed in 2020 increasing the number of rooms from 160 to 200. In 2025 their spa, Ress, was expanded so you can now relax in the warm pools, soak in the heat of various steam rooms and saunas, and simply embrace the stillness.
Hotel Føroyar has two options on site for food: the 1933 Café & bar and the Ruts Restaurant.
