In the great northern city of Porto, you’ll learn about the six-hundred-year construction of the impressive Se Cathedral, and the historic events depicted in the blue and white azulejo mosaics which adorn the walls of the Sao Bento train station. You’ll also visit the Moorish-inspired Palacio da Bolsa and high baroque bell tower of the Igreja dos Clerigos for a 360⁰ view of the whole city.
There’s also downtime to browse around one of Portugal’s oldest bookshops: the Livraria Lello, which helped to fuel J.K. Rowling’s imagination as she wrote her first Harry Potter book. No tour of Porto would be complete without a visit to the port houses of Vila Nova da Gaia and the city’s most-famous landmark: the Ponte de Dom Luis I Bridge.
