Pure Fonte Velha
The quiet village of Vila Do Bispo, with its quintessentially-Algarve whitewashed architecture and sleepy cafes, sits at the extreme southwest corner of Portugal. If you’re tackling our Wild Algarve Coast walking holiday, Bispo is your final stop before you reach the remote headland at Cabo de Sao Vicente: once considered the end of the world in the 11th century.
Thankfully, the recently renovated Pure Fonte Velha is an entirely 21st century B&B, with ensuite air-conditioned double rooms, a shared guest lounge and a peaceful inner courtyard. Breakfasts are particularly nice, with a lovely selection of fresh fruit and freshly-baked breads provided. The hotel also includes a well-equipped communal kitchen – but you’re never far from a restaurant or café bar in this nicely-compact village.
