Herdade Monte do Sol
Situated to the southwest of the historic market town of Aljezur, Herdade Monte do Sol is a collection of five, modern self-catering villas spread over a thirty hectare estate. There’s a shared outdoor pool, a shaded terrace where buffet breakfasts are served, and shared BBQ facilities where you can congregate and cook with your fellow guests in the balmy evenings.
Each villa consists of a cosy living room, a small open-plan kitchenette-diner and an ensuite double bedroom on the ground floor, and a large mezzanine upstairs. There are also two private sun terraces – one facing northwest and a larger one to the southwest, overlooking the gardens and outdoor pool.
Dusty farm tracks and quiet country lanes lead you into the nearby hamlet of Arrifana which has a small selection of local restaurants (a torch is an essential after dark), and the sheltered beach at Praia da Arrifana is a thirty-minute walk away.
