3HB Faro
Located on the Rua Vasco da Gama, the 3HB Faro first opened its doors to the public in June 2021. The hotel’s distinctive red 18th century frontage is unmistakable – architect Miguel Abreu took his cue from this street-level façade, creating a mix of traditional and contemporary with his design for the 21st century main building which sits behind. Interior designer Paulo Lobo followed suit: his skilful blend of natural wood, organic furnishings and clean white tones are simultaneously and minimal and homely – framed on all sides by the modernity of bold, black steel.
The hotel has two restaurants: Habito on the rooftop and Forno Nero on the ground floor. Their menus are another contemporary take on Algarve tradition – modern-day reinterpretations of the authentic cuisine of Portugal’s most-southerly region, which celebrate the best of its fresh, Mediterranean produce. Habito shares its rooftop location with an outdoor swimming pool and sun terrace – the latter comes into its own when the sun goes down, thanks to its sweeping view across nighttime Faro and the beautiful Ria Formosa lagoon.
