Located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park in the central western part of Namibia is a land of salt pans, dunes petrified camel trees. The easiest to see if Dune 45 at 80 meters, with the largest being Big Daddy at 325 meters.
The best time to visit is at sunrise, though sunsets are a great compromise if you’re not an early riser. The park opens just before sunrise and closed after the sun has set. Some prefer to self-drive, but most people take a guided tour as these allow you to get closer to the dunes.
