Mowani Mountain Camp
The Mowani Mountain Camp is a beautiful place to stay and a great choice for those who want an authentic African experience. Its in the Twyfelfontain Conservancy, in the Damaraland Region of Namibia, which is best known for a large elephant population. This is a beautiful collection of thatched huts, all the necessary comforts to add a touch of luxury. The rooms are nestled amongst the soft granite boulders, think the flintstones! There are shared outdoor seating around around a fire pit open fires that looks across a flat landscape dotted with pointed granite rock formations (called kopjes).
The rustic huts have comfortable beds, and there’s a shared pool out in the open, which is very much like a natural rock pool. This place really does have the feeling of being a simple, tranquil retreat, set in the most beautiful surroundings. There’s a comfortable lounge area with a little bar to buy cocktails, and you can enjoy panoramic views of the savanna whilst you dine on the deck. You can enjoy guided game drives to see desert-adapted animals, including a large elephant population, black rhino, antelope, jackals, and much more. You are also very close to the Damara Living Museum, where you can enjoy an immersive insight into how to San people (bushmen) once lived.
