Quinta do Sossego
This cliff top cottage is popular for it’s outstanding sea view, but it’s also an excellent choice if you favour more time-honoured, quintessentially-Madeiran architecture. Outdoors, a sheltered alfresco dining area (with a wood-fired BBQ) leads you to the clifftop terrace, where you can relax and enjoy the south coast’s famous sunrises and sunsets. Indoors, the ground floor has the cosy lounge/diner leading to a well-equipped kitchen, whilst upstairs there are two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom.
We recommend including a hire car during your stay, and a short drive west brings you to the small harbour town of Calheta with it’s welcoming seafront café bars and restaurants. Ponta do Sol, Ribeira Brava and Jardim do Mar are just fifteen minutes way, and it’s an thirty-minute drive into the capital Funchal.
