Pestana Fisherman Village Boutique Hotel
This newly-opened Pestana began life as the ‘Torre Bela’ – the 19th century seat of government in Camara for many years, before it’s 21st century transformation into a forty-two room boutique hotel. Although the decor is thoroughly modern, the renovations revealed beautifully preserved oak beams and imposing stone vaults, unveiling the building’s historic origins. These impressive architectural features are softened through the clever use of smooth, monochromatic whites and sapphire blues, reflecting hotel’s proximity to the warm waves of the Atlantic.
A newly constructed three-storey wing houses the guest rooms themselves: cosy Comfort rooms, more spacious Superior rooms and large Superior Family rooms. Between the two buildings, a shaded inner courtyard provides an escape from the noon-day sun, and there’s a panoramic view from the rooftop swimming pool and sun terrace across Camara’s enchanting bay.
