Your honeymoon begins with an exciting morning aboard a private catamaran. Stretch out on the open deck and dive into the waters for a swim or snorkel. Back on land, you can explore the island or simply unwind with cocktail in hand as the sun sets.
The real adventure begins when you arrive in Santiago, one of Cape Verde’s most authentic and culturally rich islands. After flying into the vibrant capital city of Praia, you’ll be whisked away to the peaceful fishing village of Tarrafal, home to a secluded beach. You stay at the stunning King Fisher Village, perched on a clifftop overlooking the ocean. Tarrafal has a secluded beach that’s just perfect for swimming in and the hotel will provide you will snorkelling gear.
Whilst here you will be treated to a wonderful mix of guided adventures, just for the two of you. You’ll barter at nearby markets, walk in the green valleys of the Serra Malagueta Natural Park, embark on a boat journey to hidden caves, ride along the town’s cycle path, and enjoy a BBQ on the beach. Your evenings will be spent swaying in hammocks and sharing a glass of wine (or two) as the sun sets on the horizon.
Your holiday ends back on the golden beaches of Sal and will continue as a fond memory of a very special honeymoon, the perfect start to your life together.
Your honeymoon adventure starts on the island of Sal, famously known for its beautiful beaches, such as Santa Maria beach. You'll stay at the luxurious Morabeza Hotel, from where you can enjoy a romantic stroll along the beach.
Today you wake up to the first full day of your honeymoon. Head out sailing on your own private catamaran. And don't worry, there is a professional sailor on board with you, so you can look out at the views, feel the wind in your hair, lie out on the deck, and stop to jump into the turquoise waters. We have left the afternoon free for you to enjoy a cocktail at your hotel and time on the beach, but we can add in additional activities if you prefer, such as horse riding or a visit to the salt pans.
A private transfer will take you to the airport for your flight Santiago. This island has the largest population of residents, so it's a culturally vibrant island. Your transfer will take you from the bustling city of Praia to a much quieter end of the Island, Tarrafal. This lovely fishing town is one of our favourite places. It has a gorgeous secluded bay that is an idyllic spot for snorkelling or swimming. And you stay at the lovely Kingfisher Resort, a clifftop Hotel with an outdoor pool with little rock steps that lead down to the sea. We always suggest including a stop at Assomada market on your way to Tarrafal, it's a great experience and a fun chance to try your hand at bartering.
In the morning you will enjoy a private boat excursion to some coastal caves. A transfer will collect your from your hotel and take you Ponta Rincao, the start of your private boat excursion to the Agua Belas Caves. As well as exploring these popular sea caves, you can also snorkel from the boat or in the caves, and you find a secluded spot to enjoy a BBQ Lunch on the beach, with flame-grilled fish that have been freshly caught. Snorkels are provided for this excursion.
Today one of our friendly local guides will collect you from your hotel and will take you to the Serra Malagueta Mountain range. The valleys here are fertile and green and the views here are simply breath-taking. It's your honeymoon so you can opt to visit a range of nice view points, or you can head out for a walk in the mountains . Your afternoon is free to enjoy time at your hotel, perhaps lie in a hammock, sip a cocktail by the pool, or swim in the sea.
Today we have left the day free, so you can enjoy some time to yourselves. You can hire bikes and ride along the cycle path, go snorkelling (provided by the hotel), or book yourself on a scuba diving experience; the dive centre is right on the beach.
After a relaxing few days on Santiago, you fly back to Sal.
