Residencial Savana
The Residencial Savana is a lovingly-kept Portuguese sobrado house facing the main square of Sao Filipe.
The converted and beautifully restored house contains 16 comfortable en-suite rooms arranged over two floors, all with air conditioning and television. Some rooms at the Residencial Savana offer views to the ocean and the neighbouring island of Brava.
As well as the courtyard area, which is the location for a small but very welcome plunge pool, there is a breakfast room where a buffet breakfast is served.
It is a short stroll down to the dark sands of the sea-shore and nearly all of Sao Filipe’s restaurants, bars and music venues are within a couple of minutes’ walk. Melissa’s restaurant next door serves delicious Cape Verdean Senegalese inspired food. Or there’s the Tropical Club-Restaurant which has a wide selection of dishes and often has live music.
The Residencial Savana and Melissa’s next door are in the best location for the Bandeira de Sao Filipe. This famous horse race starts right in front of the hotel and attracts a lovely crowd of spectators.
