Pousada Belavista
Sao Filipe is justifiably renowned for its handsome architecture, a legacy from the Portuguese colonial period and the Pousada Belavista is a fine example of the sobrado style houses you can find here. Over the years many of these old houses have been restored into private houses or beautiful places to stay.
Popular and good value, the Belavista is a well cared-for guesthouse with eleven rooms, located on the side of one of the town’s pleasant squares. The bedrooms are all different, but spacious, with large windows and pleasant balconies. Some have TV and fridge. All are en suite with hot water, some have the benefit of air conditioning and others have ceiling fans. Rooms are simply and tastefully decorated.
Within five minutes walk you will find the restaurants, bars, music venues and transportation to other parts of Fogo. The small, colourful market is also just around the corner.
