Pestana Tropico
The Pestana Tropico overlooks the ocean from its prominent position in Prainha, a well-heeled district of Praia, and away from the busy plateau.
The rooms are arranged around a seawater swimming pool with children’s area, sunbeds and parasols and a pleasant terrace in the gardens. All bedrooms are decorated in a modern style and facilities include A/C, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, telephone and hairdryer. The standard rooms all have a pool view, either with or without a balcony; Executive rooms have a sea view, while there is also a variety of suites available. There’s also accommodation that’s suitable for those with limited mobility.
There is a bar, the Ilhéu, which overlooks both the sea and the pool and is a peaceful place for a drink in the evening. The hotel also has a health club and gym. In the rooms and public areas, guests can enjoy internet access via free Wi-Fi or cable.
The “Alex” restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and has a good reputation, specialising in Portuguese and other international cuisines. It is particularly renowned for its steaks, whilst breakfast is served buffet-style.
