Melissa’s Guest House
Melissa’s Guest House is on the central square of Sao Filipe on the western coast of Fogo. You’ll receive a warm welcomes from Tony, who manages the place. Downstairs from the reception area is a great restaurant that’s open to all, and this is where your delicious Cape Verdean breakfasts will be served.
Upstairs, the guest area offers a private space, with rooms arranged across two floors. Each room is spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning, Wifi, and an en-suite bathroom. Thanks to Fogo being one of Cape Verde’s islands blessed with its own natural water supply, the showers here are reliable —no desalination needed.
Its only a few steps from the rooms to the terrace that overlooks the ocean and the charming town of São Filipe. There’s an outside guest bar on this upper terrace with seating areas and deckchairs next to the outdoor pool. The pool finishes with an infinity view over the ocean to Brava, making this an ideal spot to stay in Sao Filipe.
