Melissa’s Guest House
Melissa’s Guest House is on the central square of Sao Filipe on the western coast of Fogo.
Manager Tony is friendly and welcomes you from the little central reception room at Melissa’s Guest House. Downstairs there’s a great restaurant that’s open to all and here’s where the delicious Cape Verdean breakfasts are served.
Upstairs is private for guests and here’s where the rooms are spilt over two further floors. Rooms have air conditioning and are very comfortable and spacious with good en-suite facilities. Fogo is the Cape Verde island that’s blessed with sufficient water supply without desalination and here the showers are good. There is Wi-Fi throughout Melissa’s Guest House. Rooms are a place to relax from the outside world and heat. For sea views it’s a few short steps to the lovely terrace overlooking the ocean and Sao Filipe.
There’s an outside guest bar on this upper terrace with seating areas and deckchairs next to the outdoor pool. The pool finishes with an infinity view over the ocean to Brava. This is the perfect place for a stay in Sao Filipe.
