Mamiwata Eco Village

Mamiwata Eco Village is at the end of the road, at the end of Santo Antao, at the end of Cape Verde, right on the western limit of Africa. This is a tourism frontier and here on the wild, steep, staggeringly remote northern coastline of Santo Antao, Mamiwata is a brand-new place of sanctuary and rest.
Slopes formerly terraced for hand-hewn agriculture have been transformed into a site for the Mamiwata Eco Village. Its fourteen sea view rooms and three villas are cleverly sited at different levels and all with unbroken views of the landscape and sea.
Produce is still grown here on site and some ends up in the dishes served in the on site restaurant; other parts of the slopes now host solar photovoltaic panels that generate the electricity the site needs, including for the on-site desalination plant that provides your fresh water.
The sea view rooms are all of separate and comfortable lodges, each with double beds and an open balcony area to spend time gazing at the spectacular view of Santo Antao’s rugged north. The three villas each have two separate en-suite bedrooms and a shared living and dining area.
