On the outskirts of the tiny village of Casa d’Igreja, you’ll find the small and delightful Kasa d’Igreja.
Probably the most romantic hideaway on Santo Antão, ideal for couples and honeymooners, the Kasa d’Igreja is within walking distance of the Atlantic coast. If you’re looking for a feeling of remoteness you’ll find it here. The four en-suite rooms are beautifully decorated and those wanting a more natural experience, there are four permanently erected safari-style tents with proper beds and a shared bathroom. There is limited Wi-Fi in front of the reception area.
Mimi the owner is an excellent chef and creates the most delicious meals, including with fruit and vegetables from her own garden.
Don’t forget to look at the sky at night: here there is little air pollution and the stars are amazing.
