Hotel Dunas de Sal
Designed by respected Portuguese architect Guilherme Paris, the compact and chic Hotel Dunas de Sal is set back from the beach.
With just forty-eight rooms and one suite, guests are able to enjoy an attentive, personal service in this relatively small establishment. As you would expect from a hotel of this standard, the well-equipped rooms are en suite with private balconies and have air-conditioning, satellite TV, room safe, hairdryer and minibar. The suite has a hydro-massage bath.
A highlight of the hotel is the freshwater pool area, with an adults’ pool plus two swimming areas for children. Surrounded by sun-loungers and parasols, this is an ideal place to catch up on your holiday reading or just to soak up the delicious sunshine. Beach towels are provided.
There is also an outdoor cafe to add to the sophisticated ambience. A communal lounge with widescreen TV is available for guests’ convenience. For those who favour a bit more activity, the hotel has a small gym and hosts occasional yoga classes. A particular feature of the Dunas de Sal is that it is home to its own scuba diving centre, which organises trips to the best of Sal’s dive sites. Snorkelling excursions are also a possibility.
The hotel restaurant has a good reputation and offers both Cape Verdean specialities and international favourites. With a programme of live entertainment, you can also enjoy a gentle musical accompaniment to your dining.
