On the Pacific side of the peninsula, you get to see grey whales up close. They are known for their curious and friendly nature and regularly approach visiting boats. It can be quite a profound experience to see these giants of the sea in such spectacular surroundings. You’ll visit all three of their vital nursery grounds: Magdalena Bay, San Ignacio Lagoon, and Ojo de Liebre Lagoon, where mothers nurture their calves in the warm, shallow waters.
On the eastern side of the peninsula, you have the Sea of Cortez. This is where you can see Fin, Humpback, and Blue whales putting on a show, breaching and slapping their tails. The white-sand beaches around La Paz and Loreto easily rival those found in the Maldives, and we can easily extend your time here, before or after the group holiday.
