Baja has a groucho feel with is arid landscapes and abundance of cacti. There are riding opportunities around La Paz and Loreto which can suit most abilities. It’s difficult to pre-book but easy when in country. Options can include a canyon ride in Cabo Real or a two-hour mixed ride, one hour to the hills and one hour to the beach, the best of both worlds!
The weather is great all year round and it can get particularly hot in the summer months with occasional tropical rains and storms in August and September. Winds are generally stronger and bring cooler air during the winter months – perhaps the best time to visit Baja California. Spring brings warmer temperatures with the least amount of rain. January to March is the best season to see migrating whales give birth in the lagoons.
