Hacienda Suites
The Hacienda Suites Boutique Hotel was built in the style of a traditional Mexican estate (or hacienda). The rooms are simple but spacious, and there’s a lovely courtyard pool area surrounded by greenery. The hotel has an adjoining restaurant and it’s just a 15 minute walk into Loreto if you want to explore the restaurant options in town, or stroll along the 1-mile coastal walk way.
The buffet breakfast needs to be booked and is served each morning in a relaxed outdoor dining area. There is a bar area next to the pool serving a range of drinks, from expresso coffee to an enticing selection of exotic cocktails.
There are two types of room: standard suites which overlook the pool, and luxury suites that at the back of the hotel. Both have air conditioning and Wifi. There’s also a laundromat next door to the hotel if required. Those arriving by car will need to park in the street next to the hotel, as there is no private parking.
Loreto itself is a really pretty town and a relaxed place to wander around. The whole bay area next to the town is a National Marine Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s a true paradise, with incredibly clear turquoise waters and five uninhabited islands to explore in the bay. Isla Coronado is the most popular of the islands to explore. Head out on a boat to see the volcanic rocks and sea lions, and go snorkelling in an area with fantastic visibility and loads.
