Madeira Family Holidays

Leave your bucket and spade in your suitcase – at least until the end of your holiday. A Madeira family holiday is one with a difference.

Over the years we have seen a shift towards soft adventures, not only amongst adult travellers, but also families. No longer do some families just want to sit on the beach or by the pool for days on end but have taken an interest in doing exciting activities like canyoning, mountain biking or Whale and Dolphin watching. Like most things in life, once you have done it, you know you can do it again.

Now Madeira is not really a destination where people immediately think of the different activities they can do. It’s more a (luxury) hotel and pool, kind of destination and doesn’t even have a proper sandy beach. But you’re wrong there.

Our Madeira family holidays, not only offer a family friendly hotel with pool and plenty of restaurants nearby, they also offers a beach (on nearby Porto Santo) and a huge variety of interesting activities, your children (and you) can boast about when you get back.

Trust me, your Madeira holiday will exceed your all your expectations. From the moment you get picked up at the airport by either Daniel or one of his friendly taxi driving friends, you’ll be in for a treat. You can either opt for a two-bedroom family apartment at Palheiro Village on the outskirts of Funchal or pick one of our many family friendly hotels like the recently renovated Enotel Baia with inter-connecting rooms or what about a suite with extra beds at the Aqua Natura.

The activities can be tailored to your abilities like our Canyoning trips for example. Families with younger children will be taken to a different area where the walk in would be shorter, than families with more experience or older children. The off-road Jeep trips are private, and you will have the full attention of the driver, who not only tackles un-made tracks and potholes, but also has a lot of knowledge of the islands’ history and geology.

At the end of your trip, we’ll take you to the neighbouring island of Porto Santo, either by ferry or small plane. Here you have a nine-kilometre sandy beach on your doorstep, when you stay at the Torre Praia hotel. You can dig out your bucket, spade and towel, or better still, you can snorkel and paddle board, or maybe even go on your first try-dive.
