self-catering – Our holidays to Madeira, are all about having a well-deserved rest, re-energising yourself completely and maybe adding a few activities to the trip. This is the beauty of going on an Archipelago Choice bespoke holiday, as it’s all put together especially for you.
I am sure we’ve all had moments when we don’t want to get ready for breakfast and rather turn over again. And that at times we completely forget to put the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door, only to be rudely awakened when housekeeping is knocking on the door.
So why try something different and go on a self-catering holiday next time and stay in a place with all the mod cons, just like home, or even better. Palheiro Village for example has some fantastic villas and apartments, either with one, two or three bedrooms and some even have a private pool. High up on a hill, it’s close to the Palheiro golf course and has fantastic views of Funchal and the Ocean. It’s ideal for a couple, families, or a group of friends.
If you prefer to be in Funchal then we have a selection of self-catering Pestana hotels that offer studio rooms and if you’re on a budget, the Imperatriz Aparthotel is a great option. Don’t feel like cooking? Then it’s only a short stroll to the marina or venture a bit further to the Zona Velha (Old Town) and you have many restaurants to please everyone’s palate.
Further to the west of Funchal, along the Madeiran south coast and the man-made sandy beaches of Calheta, we have 14 more self-catering cottages at Quinta das Vinhas. Slightly different in size, they either have one or two bedrooms, sitting room, kitchenette, fireplace and bathroom with shower and bath.
These cosy cottages share a big pool and have self-made breakfast. On arrival each cottage has a welcome basket with tea, coffee, sugar, milk, jam butter and juice and each morning fresh bread is delivered.
You don’t have to self-cater for the whole duration of your holiday and can combine this with overnights in a hotel. Wherever you lay your head in Madeira, we’ll make sure that the accommodation we select for you is part of an unforgettable holiday.
Why not give us a ring if you would like to discuss the different types of accommodation. Our team of specialists have visited all the hotels that are featured on our website, and we give you the choice and flexibility by combining your choice of hotel with activities and everything else you need to make your trip successful.
