Formerly a cattle farm, and now a nature reserve housing the Africat Foundation conservation project, the design of Okonjima Plains Camp honours the family’s cattle heritage with three-tier accommodation of 30 rooms. We tend to book the standard rooms which have a small veranda, two double beds, tea/coffee facility, fridge, roof fan, twin basins and large twin shower and private undercover parking. The Plains Camp Barn is the main sociable area with a dining and lounge area, WiFi, bar and swimming pool. All of these overlook the main attraction – a waterhole where you might see cheetah, brown hyena and leopards gathering.
