Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge

Situated on the banks of a vlei (dry lake) and surrounded by the beautiful red dunes of the Kalahari, the Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge has twelve thatched houses with private terraces, each named after the wildlife living on the reservation. They are all stilted and overlook the vlei, so you can watch giraffe, nyala, impala, zebra, springbuck and lots more without leaving your house. The exterior walls are made from canvas and are between 50-60 sq metres in size. They have lovely teak floors, bathrooms with natural stone tiles and hidden outdoor showers. Outside, a 120m long wooden bridge leads out to the restaurant, bar and reception area which also includes a sunken pool. It’s a perfect base for exploring the well-maintained walking trails which cross the never-ending chain of red dunes and the vast tree savanna.
