30km from Sesriem and the entrance to the world-famous Namib Naukluft Park, the relaxed Desert Homestead Lodge is in a private nature reserve and is a perfect base for exploring the ancient dunes, hiking in the mountains, horse riding or taking a nature drive. The Lodge is completely powered by solar and at its heart is the farm-style Lodge house with its leather sofas and cow hide rugs. In this main building there is also a small library, bar and dining room with fire place. Soak up the views over the plains to the dunes and mountains from the veranda which wraps around it or enjoy a cooling off dip in the pretty pool. There are 20 cosy thatched chalets with old world style furnishings of cream linen and dark wood, good sized bathrooms and views over the mountains.
