We believe travel should create positive change. Through our Archipelago Choice community partnerships and sustainability initiatives, we support projects that make a meaningful difference to people, places and the environment. From helping families enjoy their first holiday together, to supporting mental health programmes, and tree planting and habitat restoration, we’re proud to contribute to organisations that are building stronger, healthier communities and a more sustainable future.
Carbon Offsetting
If you’ve travelled with us, you’ll know that our carbon contribution scheme doesn’t fund a project in some far-flung destination, but one much closer to our Lake District home. Since 2015, we’ve planted over 10,000 broadleaf trees and hedgerow shrubs in Cumbria in conjunction with the Woodland Trust and other local organisations. They are planted within large and small schemes, all properly managed so that they become big, established trees in the future.
The Family Holiday Association
This incredible charity helps families enjoy precious time away together, often for the very first time. Through holidays that create lasting memories, build confidence and restore hope, they make a real difference to families facing some of life’s toughest challenges.
When you refer a friend to Archipelago Choice, we’ll donate £25 to the Family Holiday Association to help more families experience the joy and lasting benefits of a much-needed break.
Growing Well
We’ve been proud to support the development of a new tree nursery in Tebay, Cumbria. Growing Well, as its name suggests, helps people experiencing mental health challenges improve their wellbeing through the therapeutic benefits of growing and nurturing plants.
As part of this project, participants have been planting tree seeds in the new nursery. Once established, the young saplings will be supplied to local tree-planting initiatives, creating both environmental and social benefits for the wider community.

Mossy Earth
We were pleased to support this inspiring rewilding project in Portugal. It is estimated that around 400,000 hectares of exotic eucalyptus plantations across the country have been abandoned and no longer provide an income for landowners. As a result, these landscapes are often left vulnerable to degradation and biodiversity loss.
The Wilder Mira project is working to reverse this trend by restoring native habitats, increasing biodiversity and helping to combat desertification. At the same time, it supports local communities by creating a more resilient and sustainable landscape for future generations.
